This was also a first, writing a reflection based on my own essay, and I was able to critique myself while creating my own aspirations as to how I want to grow as a writer and develop my skills. For this paper I analyzed the different components that made it weak and what processes I needed to take when writing my next draft. I mainly incorporated the revisions that my peer’s made but was still missing some components of the writing, like determining who my audience was and what the relationship was between me, the audience, and the medium. In this paper I explored and analyzed the different genres, in this case writing a self-reflection, within the variety of genres and rhetorical situations. For the first time I learned of what the content of this paper should contain like what the purpose of my writing was and what are my next steps in correcting my errors so they do not occur in my next draft. I also was noted of the importance of including evidence of the specific revision that was made in order to strengthen my points.
